Job Summary
The Sales Manager’s role is to be the primary contact person representing EDA to an assigned list of clients in the Scandinavia region. The Sales Manager’s main objectives are to be responsible for account management and sell multi-client seismic data licenses. The position is based in Oslo or Stavanger.
The ideal candidate will drive revenue generation through the sale of seismic data, while also managing and enhancing the value of Earth Data (EDA) assets. This role involves identifying new EDA opportunities and recommending additional solutions to client organizations, ensuring our business development activities are strategic and effective.
The successful candidate must excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, capable of handling shifting priorities and challenging deadlines. Strong market knowledge and the ability to swiftly transition between projects while prioritizing tasks and adjusting deadlines are crucial. Collaborating closely with Customer Service and Legal, the candidate will be
responsible for generating Contract Supplements, detailing products to be delivered, pricing, and payment terms for new data sales.
About the Team
The EDA Scandinavia team is based in Oslo, Norway. The team is a multi-disciplinary group consisting of 17 employees. The team is responsible for the development and planning, acquisition, processing, interpretation and marketing of the multi-client seismic projects, located offshore on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
Key Responsibilities
o Has an existing, robust network of client contacts within target oil & gas companies
o Experienced in developing and negotiating large, complex seismic licensing transactions using value-based pricing and consultative selling techniques
o Demonstrates superior account management and selling abilities including, but not limited to:
o Demonstrates superior listening skills and displays innovation in business development
o Displays an aptitude for managing difficult conversations with clients to resolve conflicts
o Demonstrates a high level of industry knowledge and a strong ability to gather market intelligence
o Has superior meeting preparation and presentation skills
o Updates and maintains client contact databases, CRM systems and client organization charts
o Attends marketing events and trade shows throughout the region
Qualifications:
Required:
o Graduate degree in Geology, Geophysics, or Geoscience.
o Minimum 8 years of experience in technical, business development, sales, or
a related role within the oil and gas industry.
o Proficiency with MS Office, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
o Fluent in oral and written English and a good understanding of Norwegian.
o Strong interest in Sales and Marketing.
o Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
o A solid understanding of excellent Customer Service.
o Performance-oriented with a proactive mindset.
o Team player with the ability to work independently.
o Enthusiastic about working within a diverse, international, and multi-disciplinary team.
