Position Summary
A Staff Scientist position is available with a flexible start date within the Human Neuron Core at Boston Children’s Hospital. We are looking for an independent and self-motivated scientist to join our team and work on projects utilizing human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived neurons to model neurological disease. The researcher will be responsible for differentiating iPSCs into different subtypes of neurons and glia, as well as phenotyping the neurons using various technologies. Opportunities are available to learn new techniques, including high content imaging and analysis, multi-electrode array recording, and novel genome editing approaches. Qualified candidates should have strong experimental expertise in iPSC tissue culture and neuroscience.
The mission of the HNC is to use human patient-derived neurons to model neuronal disease and provide support for preclinical research by developing tools, assays, and screens to identify novel therapeutics. The HNC is situated at Boston Children’s within the Harvard network, in an environment abounding in experts from neuroscience, neurology, and stem cell biology. We are fortunate as well to be abundantly supplied with many of the best clinicians in the world. Thus, the Staff Scientist will join a fast-paced team that uses cutting edge technology to accelerate therapeutic development for rare neurodevelopmental disorders.
