

Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Stockpile Experimentation and Operations (SEO) Organization / Nuclear Support Services is actively looking for a candidate to perform the duties of Quality Assurance Specialist II.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct studies and make recommendations in response to potential or actual quality problems across the balance of Nuclear and High Hazard Facilities.
Aids in the development and implementation of methods for promoting quality assurance across the balance of Nuclear and High Hazard Facilities.
Provide instruction and/or material to assist field personnel in quality assurance matters associated with Nuclear and High Hazard Facilities.
Ensure timely and orderly completion of inspections, assessments, and reports.
Assists in quality training activities.
Provides QA related support to Nuclear and High Hazard Facilities as it relates to the continuing development, maintenance, implementation, and institutionalization of the company’s Quality Assurance Program and Risk Management Program.
Conduct cause analysis and develop corrective action plans for issues identified within Nuclear and High Hazard facilities and track corrective actions to completion.
Maintain awareness of current additions or revisions to quality standards and procedures and apply them to work responsibilities as required.
Conducts research, data compilation, and data analysis in support of the SEO Metric Program.
Executes work in a disciplined manner to demonstrate compliance with laws, codes, orders, and MSTS policies and procedures.
Recommends solutions for a range of complex problems and issues.
Perform duties relating to independent verification and readiness program at Nuclear Facilities.
Generates non-conformance reports.
Able to exercise high degree of accuracy required in writing technical documents and ensuring all Company policies and procedures are followed.
Must possess independent judgment, creativity, initiative, and ability to apply knowledge and experience to resolve problems, compose correspondence and technical reports, and accomplish goals where established procedures may not be specific.
Must be highly organized and able to prioritize and schedule multiple activities of the work assignment.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with all types of people in a tactful, professional, and effective manner while screening and maintaining confidentiality.
Ability to work under limited direction.
Experience with utilizing caWeb and Active Risk Manager (ARM) to manage issues and risks.
Work schedule will be 4/10s Monday through Thursday (subject to change).
MSTS is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants offered employment with MSTS are also subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment. In addition, Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship, at least 18 years of age. Reference DOE Order 472.2, “Personnel Security”. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.
Department of Energy Q Clearance (position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, “Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites,” will be conducted. Applicant selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation, required to participate in subsequent reinvestigations, and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. Successful completion of a counterintelligence evaluation, which may include a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination, may also be required. Reference 10 CFR Part 709, “Counterintelligence Evaluation Program.”

Annual salary range for this position is: $80,953.60 - $121,430.40.
Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
