Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. The Opportunity
As a leader in digital financial services, our customer and employee experiences run on data. We depend on the Ally analytics community to fuel these journeys and to help nearly 10,000 leaders and employees make countless data-driven decisions every day. Our analytics community has hundreds of analytics professionals across Ally in communities focused on business analytics, data science, R, Python, Power BI and more and continues to grow every day. We are looking for a dynamic and self-driven individual with excellent communication skills and a background in business analytics, and strong logic and problem solving. This position’s responsibility is centered on loss forecasting for our indirect automotive portfolio and using analytics capabilities to understand key Business Metrics. The ideal candidate would be detail oriented, with ability to sift through voluminous amounts of information to pinpoint which items are relevant to understanding Business results.
The Work Itself
- Manage complex models to forecast key metrics for the Business and will be a key point of contact for the Auto Business’s Forecast and Planning routines.
- Analyze monthly results, seasonal trends, and variances; identify problems and research potential recommendations for adjustments to Forecast.
- Apply sound control processes into daily/weekly/monthly processes to effectively identify, assess, and manage risk.
- Maintain code logic to query for data, sanitize, aggregate, conform, and produce forecasts for various metrices accurately.
- Perform portfolio analytics, segmentation analysis, and other ad-hoc duties as needed.
- Present Forecast and Business Plan to leadership in forecast review calls.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure alignment regarding the Business Forecast and expectations. Interface with various stakeholders within credit risk, finance and Strategy teams to incorporate inputs and insights into forecasts.
- Apply knowledge of business and balanced judgment in interpretation of data (analytics).
The Skills You Bring
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a similar or equivalent role.
- Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the consumer finance industry (e.g., auto lending, credit cards, mortgages) is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of data querying and analytical techniques.
- Working knowledge of statistics and analytical models (preferred).
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills; strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to learn quickly and to initiate, develop, and execute small- to medium-scale projects.
- Ability to work effectively within a team of analysts and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings clearly.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working with large datasets using SAS and/or SQL.
- Advanced proficiency in developing analytical queries and procedures in SAS and/or SQL.

Base Pay Range: $85000 - $150000 USDAn individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.
Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
