ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior Director of Business Operations (DBO) will provide comprehensive professional support to the U.S. President for Specialty Care in each of his/her role capacities, including:
1. The Leader of the Specialty Care Business
2. The Leader of the Specialty Care Organization
3. A US Commercial and Enterprise Leader
The DBO will coordinate activities across the U.S. Specialty Care business, prioritizing the importance and urgency of opportunities, decisions, and actions for the Specialty Care Leadership Team (SCLT). The DBO works proactively to maximize the performance and efficiency of the business, the culture and community of the organization, and the alignment with enabling functions and the broader U.S. Commercial organization. The DBO engages as a full member of the SCLT.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Operations:
- Enhance the effectiveness of the US SC President by proactively working to communicate strategic vision, prepare and review presentations and talking points, and structure briefings for asks to the LT.
- Drive day-to-day strategic support, preparing for and following up from key meetings
- Own and maintain business processes and governance, including setting agendas, show flows, speakers, and storytelling structures for LT meetings, business performance reviews, and Leader Forums
- Discuss and independently develop strategic options for business decisions, leveraging broad knowledge of the innovative internal capabilities and external marketplace
- Manage end-to-end planning and execution of Specialty Care LT meetings, Offsites, Market Immersions, and business Strategy & Operational Plans
- Coordinate pre-reads, presentation materials, and non-LT presenters/attendees, as needed
- Define fit-for-purpose attendance, decision-oriented agendas, capture and share meeting agreements, follow up on action items, and work with the Specialty Care President’s Assistant to ensure seamless logistics
- Meeting agendas should ensure focus on the most important and critical issues and opportunities that drive achievement of business priorities and imperatives
- Work closely with the Finance Lead to set the direction for the annual Operating Plan process and own the execution and quality of the plan presentation, coordinating the work of the various members of the SCLT
- Work with SCLT and Finance to identify opportunities for efficiencies in managing departmental expenditures; adhere to financial systems/processes and compliance requirements
Organization Engagement:
- Act as a key enabler in building a strong culture and driving the U.S. Specialty Care President’s agenda, Pfizer’s purpose and values through partnerships with PX and others, ensuring optimal understanding and uptake across the organization.
- This includes activities such as an annual communications plan, Leaders Forums, All Hands Meetings, email communications, recognition, surveys, Pulse results action planning, Colleague Advisory Boards, Specialty Care gatherings, etc.
- Uphold and role model Pfizer Values and behaviors and act as an ambassador to build Pfizer’s reputation and Specialty Care’s Narrative; support business engagement initiatives as required, while strengthening Specialty Care culture
- Plan and manage needed talent development / training / change management with the appropriate cross-functional partners (Marketing Academy, GCET, PX), general communication, leader videos, announcements, intranet site, All-Colleague Town Halls, etc.
- Oversee and advise on POA / national meeting themes, agendas, creative elements, key messages, and cross-functional business priority alignment and achievement
- Design and deploy community- and team-building programs to attract, develop, and retain top talent
Enterprise / Commercial Leadership:
- Help address requests from various Pfizer stakeholders, e.g., ELT, US Commercial LT members, Board members, etc.
- Drive the delivery of monthly Board Reports, Quarterly Earnings Messages, and ad-hoc Investors Relations requests through proactive gathering of business information and ensuring quality and timely submissions
- Develop partnerships with key colleagues in other functional areas (ex: Legal, Compliance, Digital, BI, PGS, etc.) ensuring ongoing alignment of goals and strategies and increased consistency and efficiencies in processes and systems, where needed
- Provide strategic and operations support to SC President for Enterprise initiatives
- Work in partnership with the DBOs on US Commercial/enterprise-wide initiatives
- Represent the Specialty Care President, as needed, in Steering Committee and advisory meetings with others in the organization
- Act as a leader and/or point of contact for selected projects, either alone or in partnership with others, and proactively develop change management for the SCBU
- Provide input and feedback to enterprise initiatives to shape and pull through, as required
- Be an accelerator by ensuring alignment with US Commercial, participating in or leading special projects, and leveraging your network to gather and apply best practices for greater efficiency and impact
- Partner with Corporate Affairs and USPGR to support planning of external engagements, e.g. media events, advocacy events, and other external engagements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree preferred
- Broad knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare environment
- 12+ years Commercial Pharma experience required; prior marketing experience strongly preferred; Specialty Care experience preferred
- Familiarity with strategic and operating planning processes
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and mastery of working in a matrix environment as a team player
- Demonstrated business acumen, strong analytical skills and strategic mindset
- Strong project, time management, and organizational skills including change leadership
- Track record of strong networking and working collaboratively with others across functions

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $214,900.00 to $358,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
