How can you make a difference?

UNICEF’s Asia Pacific Regional Office (APRO) supports 22 Country Offices to deliver results for children in 36 countries and territories. This position serves as the administrative focal point for a section outside the core administration team. The Administrative Associate provides specialized and procedural support across budget monitoring, procurement, travel, and logistics. The role ensures timely and accurate execution of administrative tasks, enabling other teams to focus on delivering results for children.

Key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring budgets and financial expenditures
• Supporting office planning and project management
• Facilitating procurement and contract processing
• Managing communications, meetings, and correspondence
• Organizing events and logistical arrangements
• Providing travel assistance and maintaining travel records
• Processing invoices and maintaining supply inventories
• Supporting general office operations

To qualify an advocate for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements:

Education:

• Completion of secondary education is required, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the field of work.

Experience:

• A minimum of 6 years of relevant administrative or clerical work experience, including experience in financial administration and budget management, is required.

Skills:

• Training and experience using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other UNICEF software such as SharePoint; knowledge of ERP systems, including financial and accounting systems, is required.
• In-depth knowledge of UNICEF organizational structure, administrative and financial  policies and procedures.
• Organizational, planning and prioritizing skills and abilities.
• Strong client-service orientation and ability to respond to internal and external stakeholders in a timely, courteous and professional manner.
• High sense of confidentiality, initiative and good judgment.
• Ability to work effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to work in a team environment to achieve common goals.

Language Requirements:

• Fluency in English and Thai is required.

Desirables:

• Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is considered as an asset.
• Experience with UNICEF systems (e.g., VISION, SharePoint) and related financial and budget management processes.
• Strong organizing and planning skills.
• Ability to work with diverse teams and cultures.
• Familiarity with travel and procurement procedures.
