The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Instructional Technologist. The Instructional Technologist serves as a key partner in developing high-quality online courses. The role ensures courses meet accreditation standards, accessibility guidelines, best practices for online learning, and program-specific requirements. This position is responsible for all phases of course development and maintenance, including, but not limited to: building courses to include all elements in the university supported Learning Management System (LMS), staying current on the latest educational technologies and their applications, assisting with video production and editing, collaborating with faculty to create engaging multimedia elements (including training them on these tools), integrating learning tools into the LMS, and rolling and updating the courses for each new semester. The Instructional Technologist equips faculty to maximize online teaching effectiveness by providing hands-on demonstrations of the Learning Management System (LMS) and offering pedagogical advice.

As a member of the Nevada Online instructional design team, the Instructional Technologist works collaboratively to fully support faculty developing or redeveloping online courses and programs. This position reports to the Associate Director.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and two years of related work experience; OR a Master’s Degree and one year of related work experience.

Related Experience: Instructional  technology  administration  &  support,  teaching,  online  learning,  higher education and software/technical training, corporate instruction and support in an online modality.

Grants-in-Aid for Faculty Employees

Department Information

Nevada Online is a newly formed department which is leading the online learning initiative for the University. This is a progressive department who supports faculty and students within the online modality of learning. The primary focus of this department is to support faculty to ensure online learners receive a quality education from anywhere at any time. Online learners are able to access numerous courses and programs offered by the same qualified faculty as campus.
