Role Overview
MSL Engineering Ltd is seeking a Graduate Health, Safety & Environmental Officer to join our growing team in Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork. This role is ideal for a motivated graduate who is keen to build a long-term career in Health & Safety and Environmental management within a fast-paced engineering and construction environment.
The successful candidate will be fully supported and trained by MSL Engineering, including structured development toward key management systems and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of MSL’s Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) management systems
- Support site teams in ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation, safe systems of work, and company procedures
- Assist with risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), inspections, audits, and incident investigations
- Promote a positive safety culture across projects and offices
- Support environmental management initiatives and compliance requirements
- Liaise with project managers, supervisors, and external stakeholders as required
- Maintain accurate HSE documentation and records
Training & Development
MSL Engineering Ltd is committed to developing talent and will provide full training and mentoring, including exposure to:
- ISO 45001 – Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems
- ISO 14001 – Environmental Management Systems
- Practical site-based experience across live mechanical engineering projects
Requirements
- Degree in Environmental Science OR
- Diploma / Degree in Safety, Health & Welfare at Work, or other recognised equivalent
- Strong interest in building a career in Health, Safety and Environmental management
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Motivated, proactive, and eager to learn
- Ability to work well as part of a team
Desirable
- Placement or internship experience in HSE or construction/engineering (not essential)
- Basic knowledge of Irish H&S and environmental legislation
