Waste/Material Handler - Night Shift

Title: Waste Handler

Reports to: Environmental Manager

Location: Lansing, MI

Job Summary:  

Supports LG Energy Solution by managing the facility’s waste and recycled materials and provides overall support to the EH&S team as related to waste handling. 

Responsibilities:

Waste handlers must ensure timely pick-ups of all waste and recycled materials and communicate with the requesters on pick-up timing and completion of the task.

All waste handlers are responsible for the following as it relates to the facility’s hazardous, non-hazardous, medical, universal and recycling wastes.

• Ensure smooth operation of all waste handling activities
• Perform required inspections
• Attend all training as required 
• Ensure all waste handling areas are clean and in order
• Communicate with the EH&S team 
• Ensure that all duties are carried out in compliance with regulatory guidelines
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• All other duties assigned as needed

Qualifications:

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Possess a strong sense of urgency and the ability to multitask
• Ability to work with others in a team setting as needed
• Flexibility as it relates to daily work activities
