The Opportunity
Big White is seeking a motivated human resources professional to lead our people culture. This position is responsible for all aspects of human resources including policy development & management, employee guidance, and management of our employee-housing program.
Responsibilities
- Manage human resources functions for Permanent employees (125 people) and Seasonal employees (additional 875 people)
- Advise Departmental Managers on HR matters, offering guidance on communications and techniques
- Receive employees seeking advice, with an open door policy
- ESA and Payroll advice in partnership with Payroll
- Mediate issues and conversations between peers and between superiors/subordinates
- Supervise Seasonal HR Assistant and Receptionist
- Development and management of human resources policy library
- Manage all aspects of 600-bed Staff Accommodation operations
- Supervise Staff Accom Coordinator and Maintenance Manager
- Maintenance of properties
- Manage arrivals, bed-assignment, and departure schedules
- Coordinate rent payments with Accounting
- Other duties
- Manage HR component of data systems (UKG)
- Development of top-level training programs for all departments
- Assist managers in departmental-specific training programs
- Presentations during Seasonal New Hire training
- Participation in Employee Engagement Committee
- Organize and host employee recognition events
- Manage foreign work permit programs
- Participation with industry organizations (CWSAA, Go2HR)
Qualifications
- CPHR or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Physically able to access properties in winter environment, lift medium-weight boxes and equipment
- Experience with HR systems (UKG/Kronos) would be an asset
- Excellent and empathetic communications skills

Position Details
- This is a fulltime position located at Big White Ski Resort with the opportunity for occasional remote work
- We have a busy workload during the winter season and a reduced schedule during the sunny Okanagan summers
- Reports to Vice President and Board of Directors
- Salary range is $85,000 to $115,000
- Closing Date: Open until filled, with ideal commencement in late 2025 or early 2026
