Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Analyst to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, generating high-volume invoices in a timely manner, ensuring customers are billed accurately, and analyzing billing data to support operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills, along with a solid understanding of billing processes and accounting software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate, issue, and distribute accurate customer invoices on a weekly and monthly basis
- Prepare, maintain, and organize billing records and supporting documentation
- Respond to customer inquiries and explain billing discrepancies in a professional and timely manner
- Research, resolve, and document billing discrepancies and disputes
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure billing data is accurate and complete
- Review and process new and existing leasing and rental contracts
- Maintain and update customer billing information in the system
- Analyze billing trends and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Prepare regular billing reports for internal review
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong understanding of billing processes and accounts receivable principles
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to analyze data, identify inconsistencies, and resolve issues efficiently
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines
- Ability to handle confidential customer information with discretion
- Strong customer service skills, including the ability to address billing disputes and payment-related questions
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis
Education & Experience:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; relevant experience will also be considered
- Four or more years of experience as a Billing Analyst or in a similar accounting role
- Automotive or trucking industry experience is a plus
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle is a plus
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
