Amdaris Mendix Developer Academy 

 

Amdaris, an Insight company, is a fast-growing software consultancy that has achieved 40%+ year-on-year growth and joined forces with Insight, a Fortune 500 company. We build outstanding software solutions and we believe our people are our greatest asset. 

This time, we’re opening something unique: the Mendix Developer Academy — a structured reskilling programme in the maritime domain, based in Bucharest. 

Why Maritime? 

Maritime is one of the most technically demanding and least digitised industries in the world. The systems we build have real operational impact — vessel management, fleet intelligence, port operations. Very few developers have experience in this space, which makes it genuinely rare on your CV. 

How the Programme Works 

The academy runs for three months, each built around a core milestone: 

• Module 1 — Rapid Developer: Learn Mendix from the ground up. Domain modeling, microflows, pages, navigation, and basic integrations through the official Mendix Academy Rapid Developer path. 

• Module 2 — Intermediate Developer: Go deeper. Advanced logic, security, custom JavaScript and Java actions, performance, and the Mendix Academy Intermediate Developer certification. During Modules 1 and 2, you begin building your own maritime project in parallel. 

• Module 3 — Project & Final Presentation: Complete your Mendix application and present it to the Amdaris, development team. Real deliverable. Real audience. 

Every participant is guided by a mentor and has full access to Amdaris, learning materials from day one. 

The work itself includes Mendix development, but also integrations with external APIs, database design, and front-end work. The focus is on building a real application that can be deployed and used in the maritime domain. 

That's why we are looking for developers with a strong foundation in programming and a willingness to learn Mendix, rather than prior experience with the platform itself. 

 

What We’re Looking For 

• 6 months to 1 year of hands-on experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or Java — these are used directly for custom actions in Mendix 

• Good understanding of OOP principles — C#, Python, Kotlin and other OOP languages are equally welcome 

• Basic PostgreSQL or relational database experience 

• Low-code experience (Mendix or other platforms) is a bonus, not a requirement 

• Collaborative mindset, willingness to learn, and English at B1 level or above 

• Based in Bucharest or able to work from Bucharest for the duration of the programme
