We’re looking for a Quality Engineer who will play a pivotal role in the future of our company. Our Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and operational integrity of Auterion-powered drone systems throughout manufacturing and validation processes. You’ll work closely with engineering, production, and operations teams to identify potential failures before deployment and continuously improve system quality across hardware and software workflows. This role is ideal for someone with a highly analytical and skeptical mindset who is motivated to uncover the single flaw that could compromise flight safety or product reliability.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Operate in a fast-paced engineering and production environment where identifying edge cases, inconsistencies, and failure points is critical to product reliability
- Develop and maintain End-of-Line (EoL) testing protocols to validate system functionality, firmware integrity, and operational readiness
- Manage and optimize flight-test benches and validation infrastructure for drone system testing and quality assurance workflows
- Conduct root-cause failure analysis across hardware, firmware, sensors, and integrated UAV systems
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, testing efficiency, reliability, and manufacturing consistency
- Work independently to investigate quality issues, validate corrective actions, and improve testing methodologies
- Support quality validation across complete UAV platforms, including embedded systems, firmware, sensors, payloads, and operational flight behavior
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and resolve complex hardware-software integration and reliability challenges
- Deliver measurable impact on product safety, manufacturing quality, deployment readiness, and operational reliability across the organization
- Partner cross-functionally with hardware engineering, firmware/software teams, manufacturing, operations, and flight-test personnel to improve quality standards and testing processes
- Support the development of scalable QA/QC procedures and documentation to strengthen long-term production and validation workflows
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in Engineering, Electronics, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field
- Experience in Quality Assurance (QA) and/or Quality Control (QC) within engineering or manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of drone firmware ecosystems such as PX4 and/or ArduPilot
- Familiarity with electronics testing, embedded systems validation, and hardware troubleshooting methodologies
- Experience developing or executing structured testing protocols and validation procedures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes of technical failures
- Familiarity with flight testing, UAV system integration, or production validation workflows is a plus
- Experience working with testing tools, diagnostic equipment, and data collection systems
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical, process-oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional technical teams
- Strong documentation and reporting skills for tracking failures, corrective actions, and quality metrics
- EU citizenship required
