Recruiter/Onboarding Specialist
Summary:
A Recruiter identifies, attracts, and hires top talent to fill organizational staffing needs. They manage the full recruitment lifecycle while collaborating with hiring managers to define role requirements to ensure positive candidate experience. They also ensure compliance with labor laws.
Responsibilities:
- Sourcing Talent by utilizing social media, job boards, networking, and resume databases to identify qualified candidates.
- Conducting initial interviews (phone/video) to assess candidate skills, experience, and cultural fit.
- Hiring Manager Collaboration by meeting with managers to understand job requirements and create detailed job descriptions.
- Managing the entire hiring process from sourcing to onboarding.
- Tracking recruitment metrics and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
- Processing offers include background checks and pre-employment drug tests.
- Administrates all New Hire paperwork, ensuring all documentation meets legal standards.
- Coordinate first day of employment with hiring manager, providing welcome packages, providing company tours, introducing team members, and facilitating orientations.
- Educating new employees on company policies, harassment training, culture, and benefits.
- Evaluating onboarding procedures to enhance efficiency and new hire satisfaction.
- Maintain Employment Files
REQUIRED SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Clear understanding of the end-to-end recruitment life-cycle process.
- Strong networking skills to build a talent pipeline.
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and professional social media platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, with an ability to become familiar with company specific programs and software.
- Good organization, attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent listening skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
- Resourcefulness and the ability to easily adjust to changes in management direction and priorities.
- Diplomacy, maturity, and the ability to keep matters confidential.
- Ability to successfully interact with all levels of the organization.
- Construction background desired.
- Union experienced preferred.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in business administration or human resource management
- 0-3 years of recruitment, human resources, or talent acquisition experience
- Working knowledge of Human Resources Systems and Processes
COMPENSATION:
The minimum and maximum hourly pay that O’Connell Electric Company, Inc. believes in good faith to be accurate for this position at the time of this posting is between $22.50 to $27.00 an hour.
