The Opportunity
Step into a pivotal role where innovation, leadership, and global collaboration meet. As R&D Engineering Team Lead, you will build and guide a newly established R&D team in Alamo, playing a key role in advancing bushing technologies that power reliable energy systems worldwide. This is a unique chance to shape the direction of local R&D while contributing to global product roadmaps, working closely with colleagues across engineering, manufacturing, laboratories, and Hitachi Research Centers.
You will balance people leadership and hands-on technical contribution, creating an environment where curiosity, safety, and high performance thrive. From early-stage ideas through prototype manufacturing and testing, your influence will ensure projects are delivered with quality, speed, and impact. Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and inter-nal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
How you’ll make an impact
- Build and lead a new R&D team in Alamo supporting global bushing R&D
- Guide R&D projects to successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline
- Support and develop team members through coaching and performance management
- Provide technical guidance throughout project execution
- Collaborate with planning, production, and laboratory teams on prototype execution
- Monitor project costs and provide regular status and cost reports
- Foster innovation and contribution to product roadmaps
- Collaborate globally with R&D teams, factories, and engineering partners
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and interal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your background
- Master’s degree or higher in engineering or applied sciences
- More than 5 years of relevant work experience, ideally in the energy sector
- Experience with project management and multi-year projects
- Strong leadership and people development capabilities
- Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
- Fluency in English
