We are looking for a passionate and hands-on SAP Intercompany Logistics Functional Expert to join our Digital Manufacturing & Supply organization.
In this role, you will partner closely with business stakeholders across our global supply chain network and collaborate with a diverse digital team responsible for key applications such as S/4 HANA, and integrations with ERP Legacy systems .
You will play a pivotal role in translating business needs into best-in-class SAP solutions, ensuring robust, compliant, and efficient processes that support our intercompany and global supply operations.
Main Responsibilities
Functional Ownership
- Serve as the subject-matter expert for SAP S4/HANA Warehousing (eWm) and Transportation Management (TM)
- Perform functional and technical analysis, research, design, and development of functionalities, including integration with key applications, in an SAP ecosystem
- Ensure SAP solutions follow company standards, industry best practices, and GxP requirements where applicable.
Business Partnering
- Collaborate with plant teams and global logistics CoE stakeholders to understand business needs.
- Develop a solid understanding of Opella business processes and strategy through collaboration and regular engagement with key users and process owners
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, break high-level requirements into details, and distinguish user requests from underlying needs, translating these into documented solutions
Integration & Collaboration
- Work closely with colleagues responsible for external procurement, quality management, manufacturing and customer service to ensure coherent end-to-end processes.
- Support cross-functional design and troubleshooting in integrated scenarios (e.g.site logistics operations, inbound and outbound flows).
- Support development team with the resolution of blocking issues and interdependencies, and provide design guidance
- Collaborate with other functional experts and business analysts to ensure end-to-end process integration and consistency, ensuring coverage of operational, statutory, and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with the development team to develop, configure, and implement the solution as per the product development standards to meet business requirements
Project Delivery & Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to global and site-level implementation projects, upgrades, and template rollouts.
- Review and challenge proposals from external system integrators to secure adherence to Opella standards and alignment with business requirements while ensuring scalability and maintainability.
Support and Incident Management
- Provide Level 3 expert support for intercompany topics
- Collaborate with technical teams (ABAP, Basis, security) and external partners when required.
- Ensure issues are resolved with the right balance of speed, quality, and sustainability.
About you
8+ years doing ERP delivery in a business-oriented context, preferably in an FMCG global company
About eWM
- Deep knowledge of S/4HANA Embedded EWM
- Configuration of inbound, outbound, internal warehouse processes
- Expertise in Storage Control (layout‑ and process‑oriented)
- Mastery of Warehouse Order Creation Rules (WOCR) and Wave Management
- Advanced understanding of Resource Management, RF Framework, and queue management
- Strong experience with Warehouse Layout design (structures, activity areas, work centers)
- Handling Unit Management (HUM), Packaging Specifications, Cartonization
- Integration with Production Supply (PMR, staging methods, JIT/JIS)
- Physical Inventory processes and optimization
- Labor Management configuration and performance reporting
- EWM‑specific monitoring tools and KPI dashboards
- Integration experience with RF devices, automation systems, material handling equipment (MFS)
- Strong knowledge of EWM–ERP integration via CIF / qRFC / IDocs
About TM
- Deep understanding of Basic Shipping, Advanced Shipping, and Advanced TM
- Freight Order / Freight Unit building rules and optimization
- Transportation Networks: locations, zones, lanes, schedules
- Carrier selection, tendering, subcontracting, and collaboration portal setup
- Charge Management: rate tables, calculation sheets, conditions, formulas
- Planning tools: Transportation Cockpit, VSR Optimizer
- Mastery of Load Planning, Packing, Dock Appointment Scheduling
- Integration with EWM, SD, MM, PP, and Finance for freight cost posting
- Knowledge on application integrations
- Solid configuration experience, ability to determine when to use configuration vs. code, as well as good troubleshooting skills
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications and design documents, support the construction of efforts and cost estimates, and manage delivery of the desired functionality
- Able to work on complex problems under pressure and deadlines
- Project management experience; continuous improvement skills and mindset
- Experience with multi-geography, multi-tier service design and management
- Deep understanding of Application and technology Architecture
- Understanding of roles and authorization objects concept is a plus.
- Knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA and Fiori is important
- Knowledge of agile ways of working is a plus
