

ROLE SUMMARY
The Pediatric & Maternal Vaccines Strategy & Execution Lead reports to the VP, Vaccines Field Medical Director Lead and serves as a core member of the Vaccines Field Medical Leadership Team (LT). This is a Senior Director–level enterprise role responsible for setting strategic direction and driving execution excellence across Pediatric and Maternal vaccines within US Field Medical.
The role provides end‑to‑end leadership across medical strategy, execution, analytics, governance, systems enablement, and capability development. As a senior strategic partner to the US Maternal Immunization Lead and Vaccines Medical Affairs leadership, the role shapes long‑range medical strategy and translates enterprise priorities into consistent, high‑quality field execution at national scale.
This position has accountability for field readiness, executional rigor, insight generation, and continuous quality improvement across all Pediatric and Maternal Field Medical teams. The role operates at the intersection of headquarters strategy and field execution, driving alignment across cross‑functional partners and ensuring compliant, data‑driven, and impactful medical engagement that supports portfolio lifecycle needs and population‑level immunization objectives.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership, Governance & Enablement
Serve as the senior enterprise lead for Pediatric and Maternal Vaccines Field Medical strategy and execution, with accountability for national consistency, quality, and impact.
Act as a core member of the Vaccines Field Medical Leadership Team, influencing enterprise priorities, operating models, and resource allocation decisions.
Provide executive leadership and oversight for governance and compliance for Pediatric and Maternal vaccines, partnering with Legal, Compliance, Ethics, and Governance to ensure proactive risk identification, mitigation, and sustained inspection readiness.
Own the strategic direction and evolution of metrics, analytics, and performance management frameworks to enable leadership visibility into field effectiveness, coverage, insights, and impact.
Translate complex data and field insights into concise, executive‑ready reporting for Vaccines leadership and US Medical Affairs stakeholders.
Serve as a senior advisor on Field Medical systems and technology, including participation on the US Field Medical Technology Steering Committee as needed, guiding system governance, prioritization, and adoption strategies.
Lead the development and executive review of Field Medical Activity and Insights Reports, including Field Stats and Field Board content, integrating data, insights, and strategic implications.
Provide senior leadership for medical qualitative, quantitative, and advisory boards, ensuring high‑quality scientific dialogue and actionable outputs aligned with enterprise priorities.
Training, Capability Development & Continuous Quality Improvement
Serve as the senior executive owner of Pediatric and Maternal Vaccines Field Medical capability development, ensuring training strategies align with evolving scientific, business, and customer needs.
Oversee the design and continuous enhancement of training across governance and compliance, OneMed business rules, technology platforms, and customer‑facing scientific engagement.
Establish and maintain a comprehensive Field Medical onboarding, learning, and development framework aligned with Medical Affairs strategy, the Medical Affairs Academy, and Medical Excellence standards.
Lead enterprise‑level Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives, integrating therapeutic excellence, research engagement strategy, executional maturity, and quality standards across Field Medical teams.
Sponsor and lead field medical assessments and maturity evaluations, deliver executive readouts, and drive adoption of improvement actions to strengthen execution and customer impact.
Strategy & Business Planning
Provide senior leadership input into the Vaccines Field Medical medical plan, ensuring alignment with US Medical Affairs priorities and brand strategies across inline and late‑stage assets.
Lead the development and execution of a multi‑year Pediatric and Maternal Field Medical strategic roadmap, incorporating lifecycle planning, evolving standards of care, and enterprise priorities.
Define and sustain a unified, consistent, and compliant medical narrative across Pediatric and Maternal vaccines to guide field execution and external engagement.
Set national priorities, coverage expectations, and executional standards to enable focused, high‑impact scientific engagement.
Provide strategic oversight for National Account coverage planning, ensuring field readiness, appropriate expertise deployment, and compliant material utilization.
Own strategic planning and executional playbooks for major scientific congresses to ensure consistent medical presence and value delivery.
Serve as a senior Field Medical leader contributing to the annual US Operating Plan, including strategic assumptions, investment decisions, and execution risk identification.
Drive harmonization of plans, processes, and ways of working across Vaccines Medical Affairs to enable scale, efficiency, and clarity.
Executional Management & External Engagement
Ensure Field Medical execution aligns with FDA regulations and Pfizer SOPs.
Provide senior leadership oversight to ensure Field Medical execution aligns with FDA regulations, external guidance, and Pfizer SOPs.
Maintain executive‑level awareness of scientific and medical trends impacting Pediatric and Maternal vaccines, including prenatal and maternal immunization, and advise Vaccines leadership on implications and opportunities.
Partner with Policy and Advocacy colleagues and Vaccines leadership to support external scientific and medical needs.
Provide senior Field Medical leadership presence for priority regional and national scientific congresses and external engagements.
Oversee strategic partnership with Medical Information to ensure Scientific Response Documents and updates meet evolving field and stakeholder needs.
Ensure strong, professional, and compliant collaboration across Headquarters, Field Medical, and cross‑functional partners.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
Bachelor’s degree in a health science required.
Terminal doctoral degree (PharmD, PhD, MD/DO, or equivalent), preferred.
12+ years experience required with a Bachelor’s degree, 10+ with a Master’s degree, 7+ with a PhD
Medical Affairs and Field Medical leadership experience, with demonstrated senior‑level responsibility for enterprise strategy, execution, and governance
Proven experience leading complex, cross‑functional, and matrixed initiatives at national scale
Experience leading enterprise‑wide or national Medical Affairs initiatives preferred
Vaccines and RSV Field Medical experience required
Demonstrated ability to operate as a senior enterprise leader influencing outcomes without direct authority
Strong strategic thinking, executive presence, analytical rigor, and communication skills
Established track record of sustained high performance and medical excellence
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Concentrated experience in Vaccines Medical Affairs, with prenatal and maternal health expertise strongly preferred.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel up to 70 percent, including overnight travel.
Must comply with all corporate travel policies and procedures.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $214,900.00 to $358,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
