About Tritium
Tritium designs and manufactures advanced DC fast chargers for electric vehicles, with hardware and software deployed across the globe. With teams across Australia, the United States, and Europe, we are at the forefront of the clean energy transition. Our Brisbane headquarters is where our engineering and operations teams collaborate to deliver world-class technology at scale.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and technically sharp Senior Electronics Engineer to join our Brisbane team. Based at our Murarrie office and reporting to the Director of Electronics, you will take a leading role in the design and development of the advanced electronic systems that power Tritium's fast charging products.
This is a high-impact engineering role with genuine technical ownership across the full product lifecycle — from concept and schematic design through to verification, validation, and production support. You'll bring deep expertise in PCB design and power electronics, and you'll play a key role in mentoring the next generation of engineers at one of the world's leading EV charging companies.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design, review, and optimisation of PCBAs for new and existing charger architectures
- Develop and validate system-level schematics, block diagrams, and circuit designs for high-power and control systems
- Translate functional and regulatory requirements into efficient, manufacturable hardware designs
- Oversee schematic capture, component selection, and PCB layout in Altium, aligned to Tritium's design and documentation standards
- Drive design standardisation and hardware re-use across multiple product platforms
- Develop and execute verification and validation plans for PCBA and system-level testing
- Lead root-cause analysis and debugging of complex electronic and power circuitry
- Work closely with the compliance and certification team to ensure designs meet international standards including UL, CSA, IEC, CE, and MID
- Generate technical documentation, test records, and reports to support certification and production release
- Partner with firmware, software, and mechanical teams to ensure robust system integration
- Support manufacturing and operations in transitioning new designs into production
- Collaborate with supply chain and quality teams to qualify components and suppliers
- Provide mentorship and technical direction to graduate and junior engineers
- Champion DFM, DFT, and DFMEA principles across the team
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronic Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in electronic circuit and PCB hardware design
- Demonstrated proficiency with Altium Designer and LTSpice or equivalent simulation tools
- Proven experience designing for high-power, high-current, or power conversion applications
- Strong understanding of analogue and digital design principles
- Experience leading design reviews and mentoring engineers
- Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving capability
- Familiarity with JIRA or similar agile planning tools
Bonus Points For
- Knowledge of international regulatory standards for electronic products (UL, IEC, CE, CSA, IEEE)
- Familiarity with embedded systems and firmware integration
- Experience with DFMEA, EMC design, and thermal management
- Background in automotive, renewable energy, or industrial power sectors
