JOB SUMMARY:
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for evaluating, improving, and supporting manufacturing processes, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency within a plant manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with operations, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to identify process improvements, resolve production challenges, and implement solutions that improve equipment performance, product quality, and overall manufacturing efficiency. The Mechanical Engineer plays a critical role in driving continuous improvement, cost reduction, and operational excellence while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key performance objectives are:
· Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce losses.
· Maintain and improve the performance and reliability of plant mechanical equipment.
· Identify production issues and implement sustainable corrective actions.
· Support cost reduction, process optimization, and quality improvement initiatives.
· Ensure manufacturing systems and processes meet safety and regulatory requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Inspect, troubleshoot, and support the performance of mechanical equipment within the manufacturing process.
Identify production challenges impacting performance, quality, or efficiency and implement corrective solutions.
Perform cost-benefit analysis for new manufacturing processes, equipment, and operational improvements.
Develop equipment layouts, process flows, and workflow improvements to optimize plant operations.
Research, evaluate, and support implementation of new processes, equipment, and manufacturing technologies.
Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives and quality control improvements.
Ensure manufacturing equipment, processes, and products comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Maintain engineering documentation, process records, and technical reports.
Partner with operations, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to support plant performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide technical training and operational support to cross-functional teams as needed.
Utilize digital manufacturing tools and analytics platforms to monitor performance, identify losses, and drive operational improvements.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:
Experience supporting premium product manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
Strong ability to identify losses, drive root cause analysis, and implement sustainable improvements.
Ability to work independently while supporting cross-functional manufacturing teams.
Strong organizational, communication, and priority management skills are required.
EXPECTED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline preferred.
Minimum of 10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in an industrial or consumer products environment.
Strong experience supporting mechanical systems, process optimization, and equipment reliability.
Experience with process improvement, loss elimination, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong understanding of manufacturing safety standards, compliance requirements, and quality systems.
Experience performing root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and corrective action implementation.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering documentation tools.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Experience with digital manufacturing tools such as Veeva, SAP, QlikView, Augury, or similar platforms.
Knowledge of premium product quality systems and loss elimination methodologies.
Experience analyzing manufacturing data to drive operational improvements.
Ability to communicate effectively across engineering, operations, maintenance, and leadership teams.
