We’re looking for an Ultrasound Specialist RVS who’s ready to grow with our company. In this position, you’ll perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures using advanced technical, anatomical, and patient care knowledge, while ensuring safety, accuracy, and clear communication with patients and healthcare teams. You’ll also be responsible for documentation, quality improvement, ongoing education, and mentoring others, all while maintaining ethical standards and a safe clinical environment.

Responsibilities:
- Checks room daily for adequate stock necessary to facilitate continuous exam flow. Maintains appropriate inventory as indicated by posted par levels and updates supply lists when items are needed.
- Confirms patient identity with approved identifiers.
- Demonstrates age-appropriate care with all patients and appropriately prepares patients for procedures.
- Verifies patient’s pregnancy and informed consent statuses.
- Assesses factors that may contraindicate the procedure; such as medication contraindications, patient risk for reaction to medications, patient history, laboratory results, insufficient patient preparation or artifacts.
- Based on order, and depending on location, determines type and dose of contrast agent to be administered based on patient’s age, weight and medical/physical status.
- Anticipates and responds to patients' needs throughout the entire encounter.
- Provides clear and detailed information regarding the procedure to the patient, family, and others.
- Provides information to patients, health care providers, students, and the public concerning the role and responsibilities of individuals in the profession.
- Depending on location, provides a positive experience to students in role as a clinical instructor.
- Works independently to perform routine and complex, STAT, urgent, on-call and potentially intraoperative Ultrasound cases, while accurately demonstrating understanding of anatomy and pathology through proper imaging techniques.
- Depending on location, uses sterile technique when assisting with biopsies, drainages and any invasive procedures.
- Follows fall precautions, isolation standards and universal precautions 100% of the time.
- Performs high quality imaging procedures determines technical settings, identifies and removes artifact producing
- Demonstrates expert knowledge of information management systems: systems functionalities, accurately performs
- functions independently and serves as a resource to others. Adherence to HIPAA at all times.
- Documents incidents, variances, unusual circumstances or patient concerns.
- Is responsible for precise, complete and accurate data entry and image management in appropriate technology infrastructure: EPIC, PACS, etc.
- Ensures studies and supplies are appropriately coded and charged.
- Maintains accurate records. Documents in a timely, accurate, and comprehensive manner.
- Accurately and independently performs procedures, identifies and resolves issues. Seeks experiences and knowledge in the technical area to gain expertise.
- Leads efforts associated with quality and process improvement.
- Ensures the patient is imaged in a safe environment, free of hazards.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a formal diagnostic Radiology program required
- BLS – Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association required
- RVS – Registered Vascular Specialist by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (required within 18 months of entry into role) required
- RDMS-AB – Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Abdomen) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required OR
- RDMS-OB – Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (OB/GYN) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required OR
- RDMS-PS – Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (Pediatric Sonography) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required OR
- S-ARRT – Registered Technologist in Sonography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required
- RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography may substitute for the RVS
- 3 years Ultrasound experience required
