Base Salary HEO3, $72,966 p.a. + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The University’s grounds are known for their local heritage and natural beauty. We have an excellent Open Spaces team who manage the maintenance, repair and replacement of the University’s landscape.
We have an opportunity for an experienced Gardener to join the team and support this outstanding work. You will perform tasks associated with the maintenance and development of the University grounds. You will be ensuring that the University grounds are maintained to a high-quality standard, in a timely, cost-effective manner to meet the needs of our students, staff and visitors.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
perform grounds maintenance tasks on the Campus
assist in ensuring property, plant & WHS elements are maintained in pristine condition
adhere to all WH&S Policies and procedures as directed by any Senior Grounds Officer, Grounds Supervisor or Landscape and Grounds Manager
provide reliable, consistent and professional service (keeps the client informed regularly).
About you
a certificate III Horticulture, certificate III in Parks & Gardens, Certificate III in Landscape or a Certificate III in Turf
a C class drivers’ license, and ability to drive a manual vehicle (essential)
experience in Horticulture including garden maintenance, soft and hard landscaping, as well as a good understanding of work-related trades and how they interrelate
excellent communication and interpersonal
ability to work flexible hours, in various locations (including all metropolitan campuses) and in all weather conditions as required
sound knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite of Applications.
