We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong Base24 experience to join our Product Engineering team. This role plays a critical part in designing, developing and supporting payment solutions that underpin ATM and POS transaction processing across New Zealand and beyond.
You will work across complex, high availability systems, collaborating with local and offshore teams to deliver secure, resilient and well engineered software solutions that meet both customer and regulatory expectations.
Ko tō mahi | What you’ll do
Design, build, test and implement complex software solutions within the Base24 EPS environment.
Engineer and support ATM and POS device handlers, interfaces and transaction processing systems.
Translate logical designs into high quality physical implementations, considering performance, resilience and scalability.
Lead technical design discussions and contribute to peer and code reviews.
Deliver system changes through release and deployment cycles with strong documentation and controls.
Work in an Agile environment using Scrum or Kanban practices.
Collaborate closely with multiple technology teams, vendors and stakeholders across New Zealand and offshore.
Create and maintain clear technical documentation using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
5 plus year’s experience working with Base24 EPS systems in ATM and POS processing environments.
Strong experience with Base24 installation, configuration and customisation.
Solid understanding of card payments, transaction processing and ISO messaging formats.
Experience with ACI tools and applications, ideally including UPF.
Knowledge of encryption algorithms and key management systems.
Strong technical capability in IBM MQ, Linux or Unix and C++.
Experience with databases and logging tools such as Elasticsearch and Logstash preferred.
Exposure to testing, automation tools and simulators.
Confidence working across distributed teams and multi vendor environments.
A proactive mindset with the ability to solve complex problems and mentor others.
