- Strip pumps down to individual components using correct procedures and tools
- Interpret engineering drawings, GA drawings, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and assembly requirements
- Inspect all components for wear, damage, and compliance with OEM standards
- Verify all stripped components against the Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Compile detailed condition reports indicating wear status, repair requirements, and replacement needs
- Clean, preserve, and correctly store all components for reassembly or dispatch
- Liaise with Stores/Purchasing to ensure correct parts are ordered or issued
- Confirm completeness of parts kits prior to assembly against BOM
- Reassemble pumps in accordance with OEM standards, work instructions, and best practices
- Ensure correct tolerances, fits, and clearances during assembly
- Perform accurate alignment of all rotating components during assembly
- Maintain detailed build records (“build book”) including all measurements, clearances, and replaced components
- Conduct pressure and performance testing in accordance with test procedures and document all results
- Ensure all replaced/damaged components are quarantined and handled as per client requirements
- Obtain client sign-off on completed rebuild documentation where required
Machining & Conventional Lathe Operation
- Interpret technical drawings to determine machining processes, tolerances, and material requirements
- Perform precision machining of pump components (shafts, sleeves, impellers, etc.)
- Set up and operate conventional lathes and associated tooling
- Conduct pre- and post-machining operations for weld repairs
- Machine components to fine tolerances using cutting, grinding, boring, and drilling techniques
- Trim impellers and balance components where required
- Measure and verify dimensions using micrometers, verniers, depth gauges, telescopic gauges, and dial indicators (DTIs)
- Inspect machined and fabricated components for accuracy, fit, and compliance with specifications
Fitting, Alignment & Maintenance
- Perform precision fitting of bearings including white metal, sleeve, roller, ball, and tilting pad types
