About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Materials Analyst to join our maintenance materials management team in the Oil, Gas, or Petrochemical industry. In this role, you will oversee end-to-end materials processes—from new material creation and BOM approvals to procurement follow-up, logistics coordination, and spares preservation. You will serve as a critical link between procurement, engineering, warehouse, and vendors to ensure material availability and operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve requests for new material creations and updates (PO text, stock parameters, stock location, etc.) through MDG
- Review and approve BOM creation, updates, and deletions through MDG, including projects, eMOCs, and shutdowns
- Follow up with procurement and expediting for PO deliveries, overdue POs, long-pending PRs, and critical materials
- Steward, coordinate, and follow up on emergency procurements
- Resolve supplier technical clarifications and monitor technical bid evaluations
- Coordinate and steward repair and return of external materials, including capital spare monitoring and return to ensure availability
- Coordinate logistics to/from vendors; follow up and provide status updates
- Facilitate return to stock through warehouse returns and the refurbishment process
- Provide and update refurbishment status reports (traceability and visibility)
- Monitor spares preservation to ensure availability when needed
- Monitor PM work order release on time, PM work order updates, task confirmation, and CM post-PM work order close-out
- Ensure availability of ES for capital/identified spares for preservation; support warehouse in identifying non-capital spares for preservation and updates
- Coordinate and clear ongoing/long-pending issues with engineering and supply, including:
Materials discrepancy reports (from suppliers)
Materials returns, write-offs, and disposal
Collection of direct charge and aging reservation materials
Stock level adjustments
Develop and analyze regular and ad-hoc materials status reports, including:
Weekly/bi-weekly materials status reports
MDG reports
Non-stock materials, aging reservations, temporary laydown area
Excess stock and stock-out reports
Obsolescence reports by LCM
Technical clarifications reports
External support coordination:
Approve ZVPO for spares handover and follow-up
Customs clearance approval and CC allocation
Loaning coordination
Repair & return (R&R) coordination
Interface and stewardship to resolve all external partner issues
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum Higher Secondary School Education plus a three-year technical diploma (HNC, HND, or equivalent) in Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in maintenance materials management / spares management / planning within the Oil, Gas, or Petrochemical Industries
- Proficient in SAP material transactions
- Strong understanding of maintenance business processes
- Ability to read material specifications and understand specific material requirements
- Ability to read P&IDs, drawings, and various technical documents
- Computer literate with proficient knowledge of SAP and commonly used Microsoft business software packages
- Good written and oral communication skills in English
