Material Technologist

Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining the Silueta team as a Material Technologist. We are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to develop material (fabric/foam/flock) in order to meet Technology requirements and customer requirements/ specifications in a timely manner, while liaising with suppliers, and testing garments to the required customer quality standards of durability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Understand customer requirements and develop technically feasible fabrics with silicone flock applications.
Test and assess fabrics (performance, durability, shrinkage, molding, etc.) to ensure retailer acceptance and minimize risks.
Select and align raw material suppliers with customer and technical requirements.
Coordinate with suppliers, merchandising, and fabric tech teams to resolve issues and meet timelines.
Inspect first bulk materials at supplier sites before factory delivery.
Maintain, issue, and file all fabric, test, and quality standards for timely decision-making.
Re-engineer raw materials when needed through yarn or construction changes.
Complete all raw material pre-productions and risk assessments before bulk processing.
Provide fabric data for pattern adjustments based on shrinkage and curing conditions.
Prepare and present technical details at risk analysis and pre-production meetings; advise on fabric handling.
Manage color development and secure lab dip approvals as per seasonal and technical requirements.
Support marketing and purchasing for bulk PO release.
Obtain first bulk approvals and provide color continuity cards to MQA.
Create flock mixing recipes according to agreed lead times.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Degree in Textile Engineering
Basic understanding of garment components and fabrics/materials.
