This role is directly responsible for the administration and accounting of the Colombia subsidiary, ensuring full compliance with IHG’s accounting and finance policies, as well as local regulations related to taxes, commercial requirements, labor matters, and other applicable standards. The position is also responsible for maintaining ongoing communication with key stakeholders, including Human Resources, the Corporate Finance, Tax and Legal teams, MLAC Operations, Commercial, banking executives, the accounting team in India, and both internal and external auditors.
Key Accountabilities:
Perform core accounting activities, including maintaining accounting registers, billing, accounts receivables, vendor and payroll payments, executing bank reconciliations, preparing aging reports, and analyzing significant variances in balance sheet and P&L results.
Prepare monthly financial statements and annual reports in accordance with standard accounting practices.
Process payroll twice a month for 12 employees and calculate social security contributions, prepare corresponding reports, and ensure timely payments.
Managing of employee travel expenses ensuring the IHG Polices at this matter
Reconciliation of Audited Financial Statements vs Corporate Accounting.
Support for External Auditors in the following topics: Monthly tax calculation and payments, Annual income tax, Audited Annual Statement & Transfer pricing and CBC report
Key Skills & Experiences
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in accounting, finance or related field required. Master’s Degree or equivalent work experience in business, finance or related field preferred
Experience
Experienced business leader with at least 5 years of accounting, finance, and /or management consulting experience.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
Financial Systems: (Accounting system Zeus & Payroll system Siigo) Windows
Strong technical skills: E.g Excel and PowerPoint,
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of providing information to senior management and staff.
Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with leadership, field support teams and key hotel representatives.
Ability to facilitate innovative approaches,
Secure appropriate advice / guidance for client groups from specialist areas of finance
