Balance Health is the largest majority podiatrist owned practice in the country and the nation’s premier comprehensive lower-extremity focused Physician Practice. We are looking for a Surgical Podiatrist to serve our San Antonio community at one of several clinics, with plans for continued growth and expansion in the region. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, comfortable performing surgery as well as doing routine care, with a phenomenal bedside manner who treats our patients with exceptional care.
Essential Functions:
- Examine patients’ legs and feet to diagnose diseases
- Treat bone, muscle, and joint disorders affecting the feet and ankles
- Perform surgical procedures as necessary along with wound care management as needed
- Diagnose diseases and deformities of the foot and ankle using medical histories, physical examinations, x-rays, and laboratory test results
- Prescribe medications, corrective devices, physical therapy, or surgery
- Advise patients about treatments and foot and ankle care techniques necessary for prevention of future problems
- Provide education/consultation to patients, family, and health care team
- Provide health promotion and preventive medicine
- Appropriately maintains medical records on assigned patients
Compensation / Benefits:
- Competitive physician salary program with a base ($150,000 - $175,000) + comp. plan (level depends on applicable experience)

- Minimum of three (3) years professional experience preferred
- Current License as a Podiatrist in the State of Texas.
- Doctoral degree in Podiatric Medicine from an Accredited School of Podiatry
- Board certification through the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery
- Ability to observe, assess and record symptoms, reactions, and progress
- Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care
- Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities
- Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills that allow effective working relationships with diverse patient, colleague, and vendor populations
- PC Proficient with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook and EMR database
- Ability to provide legal proof of eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Ability to successfully pass an in-depth background investigation
