Role Overview
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Babble is responsible for new‑logo lead generation. This role focuses on identifying, engaging, and building relationships with new prospects, positioning Babble as a trusted adviser. Our goal is to help organisations achieve success through the effective application of cloud‑based technologies.
The SDR plays a vital role in initiating contact with new businesses and supporting the transition of qualified opportunities to Account Management or New Business colleagues, who will manage and develop opportunities through to closure.
Sales Development Representatives at Babble develop into skilled commercial professionals and are recognised as action‑oriented leaders in:
- Identifying target accounts
- Developing and executing email and phone campaigns
- Engaging C‑suite decision‑makers
- Qualifying early‑stage opportunities
Lead Generation and Outreach
- Identify and engage new accounts aligned with Babble’s Ideal Customer Profile (ICP).
- Execute high‑volume, targeted outreach campaigns via email, phone, and social channels, tailored to specific industries, use cases, or product launches.
Campaign Execution and Account Expansion
- Run focused campaigns within existing customers to uncover new opportunities.
- Respond to marketing signals and customer intent data to drive cross‑solution sales and help reduce churn risk.
Pipeline Development
- Build a strong sales pipeline by securing meetings with key decision‑makers and influencers.
- Conduct initial qualification calls to understand customer needs, pain points, and buying intent.
Collaboration and Handover
- Work closely with Account Managers and New Business sellers to ensure seamless handover of qualified leads and maintain strong prospect and customer engagement.
Team Contribution and Innovation
- Thrive in a fast‑paced, target‑driven environment by taking initiative, testing new approaches, and sharing successful techniques with the wider team.
Key Measures of Success
- Achievement of Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs).
Qualifications
- A passion for technology and software sales; 1–2 years of customer‑facing experience is preferred.
- Strong work ethic, motivation to succeed, and a collaborative team‑player mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence speaking to senior‑level executives.
- Outstanding organisational skills, with strong prioritisation, time‑management, and urgency.
- Keen interest in current and emerging technology trends and their relevance to customer business goals.
- Ability to build and maintain strong, long‑lasting internal and external relationships.
- Action‑orientated and resourceful, with a results‑driven approach.
- Collaborative and coachable, with enthusiasm for continuous learning and improvement.
