Certified Continuing Care Assistant / Caregiver

What We’re Looking For
- Continuing Care Assistant Certificate from Saskatchewan is considered an asset
- Strong experience with client mobility, transfers, and personal care
- Experience in healthcare, home care, assisted living, or long-term care
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Flexible availability, including weekdays, weekends, mornings, evenings, and overnights
- Experience supporting clients with limited mobility, dementia, chronic conditions, or age-related decline
Ability to follow individualized care plans and complete documentation accurately
Strong understanding of safe body mechanics, fall prevention, infection control, privacy, and client dignity
Preferred Experience
Personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, continence care, oral care, and hygiene assistance
Safe mobility and transfer assistance, including bed-to-chair, chair-to-wheelchair, wheelchair-to-toilet, and repositioning in bed
Use of transfer equipment, including full ceiling lifts, sit-to-stand lifts, Hoyer lifts, gait belts, walkers, and wheelchairs
One-on-one care in private homes, independent living, assisted living, or long-term care settings
Availability
Flexible availability is preferred, including:
- Weekdays and weekends
- Mornings, evenings, and overnight shifts
Job Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care, hygiene, toileting, dressing, grooming, and continence care
- Support safe transfers, repositioning, ambulation, and mobility assistance
- Use full ceiling lifts and other mechanical lift equipment safely, where required
- Provide companionship and emotional support while promoting dignity, independence, and comfort
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding assistance, hydration reminders, medication reminders, and light housekeeping
- Help with laundry, changing linens, and maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Observe and report changes in the client’s physical, emotional, or cognitive condition
- Follow the client’s care plan and complete required documentation after each visit
- Maintain client confidentiality, privacy, and professional boundaries
- Follow infection prevention, workplace safety, and safe body mechanics procedures
