Our Potential Opportunity
INTECH Automation Intelligence is seeking a Design Engineer (Proposal) to join our dynamic Wellhead and Skids Solutions team. This role is pivotal in supporting Modular Skid Packages, Wellhead Control Panels, and Pressure Regulation Systems to enhance the safe and efficient operation of oil and gas systems. INTECH’s commitment to innovative designs and reliable systems ensures you will contribute to impactful projects in industries such as Oil & Gas and Utilities.
Our Wellhead and Skids Solutions reflect our dedication to providing cost-efficient, fully autonomous systems that support operational excellence while meeting the highest industry standards in safety and performance.
What You’ll Lead and Deliver
- Assist in the review and interpretation of Request for Quotations (RFQs), client specifications, and technical requirements related to Wellhead Control Panels (WHCP) and skid-mounted packages, ensuring alignment with project scope and applicable standards.
- Support the Design and Proposals teams in the preparation of technically compliant proposals by contributing to the development of technical assumptions, deviations, clarifications, and risk identification, under guidance from senior engineers.
- Contribute to the preparation and updating of engineering deliverables, including instrument datasheets, control philosophies, logic diagrams, loop diagrams, cable schedules, and junction box schedules, ensuring accuracy and consistency with approved designs.
- Perform basic engineering calculations such as valve sizing, flow meter selection, pneumatic and hydraulic system sizing, cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, and intrinsic safety checks, with validation from lead engineers.
- Prepare and manage technical query (TQ) sheets, coordinate vendor clarifications, maintain vendor communication logs, and assist in the preparation of Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) reports for supplier selection.
- Maintain organized and revision-controlled records of RFQs, client comments, technical submissions, vendor documents, and internal engineering deliverables, in accordance with project document control procedures.
- Participate in design and interdisciplinary review meetings, supporting the review of panel layouts, electrical schematics, cable routing drawings, loop diagrams, and control system architecture, and assist in closing review comments.
- Support electrical and instrumentation design checks for basic compliance with international standards such as IEC, API, and project-specific specifications, highlighting non-compliances or gaps for senior engineer review.
- Assist in interdisciplinary coordination between Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, and Process teams by supporting document circulation, comment consolidation, and resolution tracking.
- Provide project execution support during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), testing and commissioning scope evaluations, and resolution of site-related technical queries, ensuring feedback is incorporated into final project documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying design efficiencies, standardization opportunities, and lessons learned during proposal and execution phases.
Requirements
To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, or a closely related discipline) from a recognized university. A strong academic foundation in control systems, instrumentation, and electrical engineering is essential.
- 3–5 years of relevant industry experience in proposals engineering and project execution, specifically within the Oil & Gas sector, with exposure to skid-mounted systems and wellhead control packages.
- Prior exposure to proposal engineering or project execution support is mandatory.
- Basic understanding of WHCP, hydraulic/pneumatic circuits, and skid electrical systems.
- Working knowledge of control/safety systems – ability to read PLC/DCS I/O lists, logic diagrams, and loop drawings.
- Hands-on experience with instrument hook-ups, cable scheduling, and panel layout reviews.
