The Marketing Specialist for Fantasyland Hotel and West Edmonton Mall Inn is responsible for planning and executing a strategic marketing plan which supports the hotel’s brand, drives traffic and generates sales. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Support the development of marketing plans, providing day-to-day marketing support and generate new innovative ideas that promote Fantasyland Hotel, West Edmonton Mall Inn, our Food and Beverage outlets such as the L1 Lounge, L2 Grill, as well as its Room Service department and our large volume Banquet and Catering space. • Increase engagement for Fantasyland Hotel and West Edmonton Mall Inn through effective advertising, strong branding, clear and concise communications, enticing promotions and annual marketing programs/opportunities that increase sales and traffic. • Support the promotion and delivery of special events and entertainment activities for Fantasyland Hotel and related entities. • Collaborate with other members of the marketing department, internal graphic designers, social media team and other departments to increase the effectiveness and visibility of initiatives, • Develop compelling and creative content for each promotion by identifying the target market, determining the right media mix and messaging, and facilitating seamless execution. • Support hotel properties in working towards 100% occupancy and exceeding the proposed budget each month. • Create and manage the annual marketing budget to align with annual and long-term objectives of Fantasyland Hotel and West Edmonton Mall Inn. • Contribute to the direction in overall strategy, development, and implementation of all marketing and promotions designed to maximize and fully leverage all opportunities for Fantasyland Hotel. • Other responsibilities as required. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Marketing, Communication or Business or related marketing degree. • Two (2) to three (3) years’ experience in an equivalent Marketing and Communications position in a related industry. • Outstanding interpersonal skills, a professional demeanor, and a high level of confidence in the workplace with previous experience leading a team and interacting with mainstream media outlets. • Ability to develop, maintain and manage vendor/customer relationships. • Excellent social media acumen. • Display exceptional innovation and initiative with the ability to exhibit problem solving abilities, including good judgement, creativity and research skills. • Highly organized, solution-orientated, strong multi-tasking skills and the ability to work in an ever-evolving fast paced environment complemented by the personal capability to think quickly and respond effectively under pressure. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: • This is a full-time position that is required Monday through Friday with flexibility to allow for occasional evening and/or weekend project driven work and activities. • This position may be eligible for participation in our 4-day work week program, subject to operational requirements. • This is a salaried position that will depend on experience and qualifications. • Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
