KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and support high performance, highly available and mission critical database platforms for the Core Banking, Digital channels, and other systems.
- Manage SQL Server and MySQL instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configurations
- Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
- Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
- Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems
- Review and design database structures to support business requirements including logical and physical database modeling.
- Install, configure and maintain database instances, creates various database objects, create users with appropriate roles and levels of security.
- Implement database security policies that are consistent with laid security guidelines.
- Implement and perform database backup and recovery strategies that meet recovery and availability requirements.
- Determine appropriateness of data for storage and optimum storage organization.
- Work with the development, testing, and support teams to provide design guidelines and impact analysis
- Contribute to the weekly on-call rotation and maintenance task.
- Provide detailed documentation on data model design and implementation
- Effectively collaborate with other Operations and Support team to resolve performance and design issues
Perform Database performance analysis
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Running, managing and securing all bank applications databases and timely support to the business across the Bank.
2. Implementation of database solutions to achieve optimum performance with High Availability and quick recovery for disaster in order to ensure Business continuity.
3. Monitoring and providing security control of data management systems to ensure optimal performance as well as protection of information assets.
4. Providing technical management support to other IT and business units in implementing of projects
Academic & Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in ICT related field or Electrical Engineering
Professional Qualifications in Oracle Databases (OCA/OCP), MySQL, MS SQL, Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP etc) is an added advantage.
Minimum of 3 years experience in Oracle Database Administration, MySQL, MS SQL, Postgres & Mongo D
