Seeking "Expression of Interest" from postdoctoral researchers interested in Quantum Physics at the Quantum Institute at NYU.
The Quantum Institute seeks to create a highly stimulating environment that engages the best and brightest faculty and students to conduct deep and impactful research.
This project is a collaborative work with IBM Q researchers and NYU faculty in the Quantum Institute. It involves expertise in quantum algorithm and requires dilution refrigerator characterization of the quantum circuits. Areas of interest include: 1. Hamiltonian simulation e.g. time-dependent Schrodinger equation, eigenstates, thermal states; 2. Classical simulation of quantum circuits; 3. resource estimation of early fault tolerant algorithms.
This project involves collaborating broadly with theoretical and experimental groups within and outside NYU and IBM. Team work, good communication skills and discipline in summarizing results are necessary.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $62,500 - $70,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Completion of PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or other discipline aligned with Quantum Institute faculty research by the start date.
