The Admissions Counselor is a member of the professional recruiting team that energetically and enthusiastically pursues and implements the recruitment and enrollment goals of the university. This position represents and interprets UAH accurately and persuasively to prospective students, parents, school officials, school counselors, teachers, and alumni, as well as UAH faculty, staff, and students.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Manage a recruitment territory of incoming first-year students. Travel to recruitment territories as needed, approximately 10-15 weeks throughout the year.
• Communicate with incoming students, parents, and school counselors through multiple platforms, including a recruitment CRM.
•Attend high school visits, college fairs, and other off-campus recruitment activities on behalf of the university.
• Develop and cultivate relationships with prospective students at all points in the admissions funnel through telephone, email, texting, in-person, and written communication.
• Answer telephone, email, and other inquiries and provide information to students, their families, and school counselors.
• Follow up, track, and communicate with prospective students and assist them from prospect through enrollment.
• Develop and implement territory management plans for assigned geographic territory.
• Assist with the development and implementation of recruitment strategies for students from targeted areas.
• Represent the Office of Admissions at on-campus recruitment events, including preview days, open house events, admitted student events, and new student orientation.
• Plan and host recruitment events for prospective students, their parents, and school counselors.
• Utilize the recruitment CRM to manage student data and reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Recruitment or Director of Admissions.
• Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1-2 or more years of full-time verifiable work experience in a university or college setting OR 1-2 years as an active member of a student organization.
• Must have database management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
• Ability to be covered by university vehicle insurance.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
