Job Description
AI Engineer (Infrastructure)
We’re a naan traditional company…
Job Summary:
We are looking for a driven and curious AI Engineer to join our technology team and help shape the future of AI-powered innovation in the food manufacturing industry. In this entry-level role, you will design, build, and deploy intelligent systems — from LLM-based applications and agentic automation pipelines to ML models that optimize production and operations.
You will work at the intersection of cutting-edge AI and real-world manufacturing challenges, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that drive efficiency, quality, and competitive advantage. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives on turning complex problems into scalable, production-grade AI systems.
What FGF Offers:
- FGF believes in Home Grown Talent, accelerated career growth with leadership training. Unleashing Your Potential
- Competitive Compensation, Health Benefits, & a generous flexible medical / Health spending account
- RRSP matching program
- Tuition reimbursement
- Discount program that covers almost everything under the sun - Restaurants, gyms, shopping etc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deploy LLM-powered applications and Generative AI solutions tailored to food manufacturing workflows — including quality control, supply chain optimization, and production intelligence.
- Architect and build agentic AI systems and automation pipelines that reason, plan, and act across multi-step tasks with minimal human intervention.
- Develop and fine-tune ML models for predictive analytics, anomaly detection, demand forecasting, and process optimization.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging AI platforms, APIs, and frameworks — including foundation models, vector databases, and orchestration tools (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI).
- Build and maintain robust data pipelines and MLOps infrastructure to support model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, operations, and domain experts to translate business requirements into scalable AI solutions.
- Conduct rigorous model evaluation, performance benchmarking, and continuous improvement cycles.
- Document architectures, experiments, and outcomes to promote knowledge sharing and reproducibility across the team.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in AI/ML research and apply relevant techniques to real-world challenges.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of hands-on experience in AI/ML engineering, including production deployments of LLM-based or ML-driven systems.
- Strong Python proficiency and familiarity with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, scikit-learn, and LLM orchestration libraries.
- Demonstrated experience working with large language models (LLMs) — including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG (retrieval-augmented generation), and tool/function calling.
- Experience building agentic systems, multi-step reasoning pipelines, or autonomous AI workflows.
- Solid understanding of ML fundamentals: model selection, feature engineering, evaluation metrics, and avoiding overfitting.
- Familiarity with MLOps practices: model versioning, CI/CD for ML, monitoring, and A/B testing.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure or GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills — able to present complex AI concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
