LINE COOK
The Line Cook will assist in the successful operation of the culinary department, ensuring sanitation and food standards are achieved.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Prepare and cook foods of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions.
- Maintain purchasing, receiving and food storage standards.
- Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.
- Recognize superior quality products, presentations, and flavor.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Follow proper handling and right temperature of all food products.
- Operate and maintains all department equipment and reports malfunctions.
- Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
- Follow recipes and maintain high standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a high-volume hotel and restaurant environment as a Line Cook.
- 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or 3 years’ experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
- Passionate culinarian with great palette and sense of presentation.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work well in environment with time constraints.
- Ability to troubleshoot effectively.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational skills, performing work accurately and efficiently.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills.
- Must maintain a professional image and demonstrable leadership skills.
- Ability to lift 50lbs; sit, stand, walk for an extended period of time.
- Must work a flexible schedule including outside of normal business hours, i.e. evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Salary: CI$6.56– CI$14.00 per hour + gratuities
