Your area of work:
The Compliance Function works in close coordination with the individual business units and other group control functions to ensure compliance with national and international laws, rules, and regulations applicable to various units of the Deutsche Börse Group and its business activities. The Compliance Function has a proactive role in the identification of possible compliance or reputational risks, including those that may arise in connection with new activities and products. Group Compliance defines group-wide compliance standards, supports their consistent application within the group entities, and provides centralized services.
As a Senior Data Analyst / Compliance Officer Analytics & Monitoring you are responsible for analyzing financial transaction data to support the detection, investigation, and prevention of suspicious activities, including money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, and other financial crimes. The role contributes to the continuous improvement of transaction monitoring frameworks through data-driven insights, quantitative analysis, and close collaboration with other colleagues from compliance, risk, business and technology stakeholders.
Your responsibilities:
- Analyze large and complex financial transaction datasets to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and potential financial crime risks using python and SQL.
- Support the design, calibration, and ongoing optimization of transaction monitoring rules, thresholds, and scenarios.
- Implement, and improve processes, and guidelines within the monitoring team in accordance with regulations (especially, but not limited to Anti Money Laundering/Terrorism Financing and Fraud).
- Support data-driven tuning exercises and provide evidence-based recommendations for improvements.
- Analyse monitoring results to optimize false/positive ratio.
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives, projects, and enhancements related to transaction monitoring and analytics.
- Support regulatory, internal audit, and external audit requests by preparing analyses, metrics, and documentation.
- Be involved in meetings with the business to discuss and identify new relevant typologies.
- Create and maintain documentation to fulfil audit requirements.
- Maintain and improve the relationship with expert departments within the legal entities, including internal and external stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Money Laundering Reporting Officer and prepare potential filing of SARs.
- Monitor and analyse regulatory requirements and support the team in implementing relevant internal rules, standards, processes, and guidelines.
- Act as a central point of assistance and advisory for investigation team, development of the investigation decision matrices
Your profile:
- You have a minimum of five years professional experience in the field of data analysis in the financial market and experience working with large datasets and complex data structures in regulated environments.
- You have a university degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or comparable qualifications and you are familiar with data analysis and statistical methods
- Change and release management are topics which you know and feel comfortable with including requirements management.
- Relevant experience as a data analyst in the financial services sector, preferably in transaction monitoring, financial crime, AML/CTF, or fraud analytics. Knowledge about FX business will be a plus.
- You have profound knowledge of relevant regulatory legislations and requirements in the field of German and EU regulations (KWG, GWG, AMLR, etc.) and solid understanding of transaction monitoring concepts and financial crime risks.
- You have very strong analytic skills and sound knowledge in data analyses, SQL and Python. Databricks is a plus.
- General technical understanding of software architecture and networks round up your profile
- Strong writing, conceptual and methodological skills, ability to communicate complex analytical results clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Structured, methodical, and documentation-oriented working style.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- You enjoy working in a team and matrix organization in a multi-cultural, multi-location, and international environment with a high level of initiative, flexibility, commitment, and motivation.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English; German language skills will be an asset.
