Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on and technically strong Technical Specialist, Malaysia to support troubleshooting, system integration, product evaluation, and customer engagement for entrance and access control solutions. This role combines on-site technical support, system commissioning, training, proof-of-concept (POC) deployment, and product warranty assessment.
What you will do
Technical Troubleshooting & Support
Diagnosing and resolving issues related to:
Access control systems (controllers, readers, software)
Speed gates, turnstiles, and barriers
Automatic sliding door systems (sensors, motors, controllers)
Troubleshoot issues involving software, databases, and system connectivity
Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers and partners
Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions
Installation, Commissioning & Integration
Support system installation, testing, and commissioning
Integrate access control systems with entrance automation products
Configure systems including database setup, user access, and system parameters
Ensure systems operate according to specifications
POC, Demonstration & Training
Set up and manage POC systems, including customized configurations to meet project requirements
Support product demonstrations and technical presentations
Conduct technical training for distributors, partners, and end-users, including system software, database basics, and troubleshooting
Develop training materials, user guides, and ensure effective knowledge transfer
Product Warranty Assessment & Quality Evaluation
Evaluate returned or faulty products to determine warranty eligibility
Identify root causes of failure (e.g., product defect vs. installation error, misuse, or external factors)
Prepare clear technical reports to support warranty claims or rejection decisions
Liaise with internal teams and principals/manufacturers on warranty cases
Provide recommendations to reduce recurring issues (installation practices, product improvements, etc.)
Technical Documentation & Reporting
Prepare service reports, troubleshooting logs, commissioning records, and warranty reports
Maintain documentation for system configurations, including database-related settings
Requirements
What we require
Education & Experience
Degree or diploma in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics / Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in:
Access control systems
Entrance automation (e.g., sliding doors, turnstiles, speed gates)
Field service or technical support
Technical Skills
Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills (electrical & mechanical)
Familiar with:
Access control software and hardware
Sensors, controllers, and automation systems
Basic networking (IP addressing, connectivity)
Basic knowledge of SQL Server and database management (e.g., backup/restore, simple queries, user management)
Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical drawings
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (especially root cause analysis)
Good communication and report-writing skills (for training and warranty justification)
Customer-oriented with the ability to manage on-site situations independently
Able to make objective and firm decisions on warranty claims
Working Conditions
Frequent site visits and travel required
May require after-hours support for urgent technical issues

Experience with integrated security systems (CCTV, alarm systems)
Experience handling warranty claims or product quality assessment
Experience conducting structured technical training
