Manufacturing Engineering Intern

To assist in supporting manufacturing processes, improving production efficiency, and contributing to the development and implementation of manufacturing methods in accordance with Pride’s procedures and protocols
•Assist engineers with improving and supporting manufacturing processes, assembly methods, and production workflows
•Assist with troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective actions to improve quality and efficiency
•Support prototype builds, pilot runs, and transition of new products into production
•Assist in developing and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) and work instructions
•Assist with process documentation, time studies, and workflow optimization initiatives
•Support continuous improvement activities including Lean Manufacturing initiatives
•Assist with fixture design, tooling improvements, and basic manufacturing support equipment
•Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action processes
•Assist with component inspection, testing, and validation activities as required
•Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents, or injuries are promptly reported to management
•Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
•Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
•Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary
•Must be a creative team player, friendly, professional, detail-oriented and honest
Must have the ability to:
•Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment
•Work as part of a multi-disciplined cross-functional team
•Read and comprehend work instructions
•Prepare and present summary reports
•Use hand tools and standard power tools
•Prepare and build prototypes
Must have:
•Relentless drive to achieve advancement and continuous improvement
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
•Basic mathematical and reading skills
•No experience required
•Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering related field
•Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering Technology preferred
Prospective interns must:
•Be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now, or in the future
•Be at least in the equivalency of successfully completing Sophomore year of college before starting the internship
•Provide approval documents from their college or university to receive college credit preferred
•Related project or internship experience in manufacturing, production processes, or process improvement preferred
•Exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles such as 5S, Kaizen, or continuous improvement initiatives preferred
•Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly methods, and production workflows preferred
•Familiarity with ERP or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) preferred
•Ability to lift/push/pull 40 lbs. preferred
•Ability to provide examples of process improvement, workflow optimization, or manufacturing-related projects preferred
•Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions preferred
•Current or previous successful internship experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred
