About the Role:
The Production Planning Customer Support Supervisor is responsible for driving effective production planning and execution to ensure on-time deliver and high customer satisfaction.
Qualifications (Required & Preferred):
Education: BS/BA in related field (R) such as Accounting, Business, Supervision, Engineering, or equivalent experience Experience: 5-10 years experience in Planning, Manufacturing, Warehousing, or Engineering (P)
Areas of Knowledge: Understanding the impact of Sales Order and Production Specifications on the production schedule (R); Understanding of process/equipment capabilities (P), Advanced analytical capability with experience interpreting complex manufacturing, backlog, and capacity data (R); Shop Floor Reporting (P); Ability to interface directly with Sales and customers regarding order status, priorities, and delivery commitments (R); Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to influence across functions (R); Interface with the Haynes IT department and others for development, implementation, and improvement of new and existing scheduling and reporting tools.
Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (R); Working knowledge of ERP and data reporting systems (R); Strong organizational and communication skills (R).
Role Responsibilities:
- Planning: Create daily, weekly, and monthly production planning reports for key metrics in the manufacturing and planning process. Work daily to ensure that on-time delivery and customer satisfaction are at the forefront when creating and maintaining expedite schedules. Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules aligned with customer demand, capacity constraints, and material availability. Balance competing priorities across work centers to maximize on-time delivery and throughput.
- Product Review: Oversee Product Reviews to ensure timely and optimal resolution. Supervise Product Review Coordinator to ensure consistent follow-up, resolution, and routing adjustments.
- Communications: Provide manufacturing and planning with daily directions in the form of expedite lists for semi-finished and finished products. Communicate with all stakeholders daily/weekly the status of production orders. Provide updates and guidance at daily production meetings. Provide data and relevant production planning information for the monthly S & OP meeting. Act as a liaison between production, sales, production control, and shipping to ensure orders are completed in a timely fashion. Communicate when orders have fallen behind and impact delivery to the customer.
- Organizing: Using the tools provided (MX, Excel, Dynamics AX, Shopfloor, Targit, etc.) to monitor and adjust expedite lists to ensure high quality products are delivered on time to the customer. Assist in the maintenance and improvement of ERP and planning systems used throughout the supply chain processes.
- Process Control: Using the tools provided (MX, Excel, Dynamics AX, Shopfloor, etc.) monitor the production backlog and provide information to management in areas of concern that could have an impact on providing on time delivery for customers (i.e., bottleneck work centers, Product Reviews, testing, etc.)
