The IT Intern will support the Information Technology team in maintaining systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and assisting with day-to-day IT operations. This role provides hands-on experience in a professional environment and exposure to a wide range of technologies, while contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of IT services across the organization.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide first-level technical support to employees for hardware, software, and network-related issues
- Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of computers, printers, and other IT equipment
- Support user account management, including setup, access changes, and deactivation
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic technical problems, escalating complex issues as needed
- Help maintain IT documentation, including procedures, asset inventories, and user guides
- Assist with system updates, patches, and routine maintenance activities
- Participate in IT projects, such as system upgrades, deployments, or process improvements
- Monitor and respond to help desk tickets in a timely and professional manner
- Support cybersecurity initiatives by following company policies and identifying potential risks
- Perform data entry, reporting, and other administrative tasks as assigned
CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
- Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Basic knowledge of computer systems, hardware, and operating systems (Windows, macOS)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and common business applications
- Foundational understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
- Effective communication and customer service skills with a user-focused approach
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Exposure to IT support tools, cybersecurity principles, or prior hands-on experience (preferred)
