Key Responsibility:
System Design & Optimization
- Support the design and deployment of automated systems including conveyor belts, sorters, automated storage/retrieval systems (AS/RS), PLCs, and SCADA interfaces.
- Evaluate existing automation performance and recommend technical enhancements or upgrades to maximize uptime and throughput.
- Analyze system data to optimize process flows and improve system logic for warehouse operations.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Lead advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues in automation equipment.
- Collaborate with technicians to implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans.
- Liaise with OEMs and service providers for major repairs or component replacements.
Project Implementation & Support
- Assist in the planning, testing, and commissioning of new automation installations or expansions.
- Ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables, technical documentation, and validation protocols.
- Provide engineering support during system upgrades, process changes, or infrastructure modifications.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all automation systems operate in compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and monitor safety protocols to prevent accidents and equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain up-to-date risk assessments and mitigation plans for automated zones.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate logs of system performance, issue resolutions, and engineering modifications.
- Develop technical manuals, training content, and process documentation for team knowledge sharing.
- Present reports on automation KPIs, downtimes, and system efficiency to management.
Desired Experience:
- 4–6 years of experience in warehouse or industrial automation engineering, preferably within a retail distribution environment.
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming, SCADA systems, and industrial control systems.
- Experience with automated conveyor systems, sortation systems, and warehouse management integrations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering.
- Exposure to Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Industry 4.0 concepts is a plus.
