The Systems Analyst II maintains operational excellence of Seaspan’s live business systems. Working closely with team members and directly supporting end users, the Systems Analyst responds to user needs while determining appropriate urgency and priority. This role contributes to the design and development of new system functionality to suit Seaspan’s growing needs.
Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement
What you'll do
Provides end-user support and works independently or with other teams including vendors to identify root cause behaviours to resolve production issues.
Analyzes information from different sources and displays critical thinking and sound decision-making when working towards solutions.
Produces incident reports and troubleshooting knowledge articles.
Provides emergency production support; liaising with end users, other IT teams and vendors to troubleshoot and provide solutions. Provides technical support for assigned systems/projects and takes ownership of medium-risk applications. Assists peers with planning and supporting larger, higher-risk projects.
Assists in executing test scripts for UAT and provides support to testers/end users on small projects.
Assists in facilitating business user workshops and supporting change management activities.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
What you'll bring
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or completion of a Post-secondary Diploma in Computer Science.
3 - 5 years of related work experience (systems analysis, application development and support, operations support, service desk).
2-3 years of technical experience with programming languages, database administration, and server administration.
Experience in supporting at least one core operations process such as order to invoice, procure to pay, product lifecycle management, material resource planning, or manufacturing.
Experience in developing and maintaining interfaces for both on-premise and SaaS applications preferred.
Passion for service excellence and business enablement, as well as the proven ability to deliver on work products that provide measurable business benefit.
Able to collaborate well with peers, as well as internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills, being able to adapt to various audiences.
Able to act as a subject matter expert for major applications.
Understanding of troubleshooting principles, methodologies, and issue resolution techniques.
Technical knowledge of programming languages and relational databases, such as .Net, Java, C#, SharePoint, Oracle and SQL Server.
Understanding of how the business works, and ability to demonstrate continuous learning and development of business acumen through formal and informal training.

The estimated salary for this position is $84,600 - $103,400. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
