Responsibilities:
- Read Form Tool and check product against quality standards
- Lifts stacks of pails onto line
- Adjusts positioning of pails to ensure proper entry into printing machines
- Stacks completed pails onto skids
- Conducts basic inspection of printed artwork on pails by looking for misprints and colour issues
- Monitor automated equipment, ensuring product is not backing up the line
- Inspects product to ensure 100% conformance to standards
- Ensures finished product packaging is properly labelled
- Actively contributes to 5S (housekeeping) and lean manufacturing implementation and maintenance; clean, mop and otherwise maintain a safe work area
- Works in a safe manner according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and according to Company Health and Safety Policy
- Must wear appropriate PPE such as gloves, safety shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection
- May be called upon to assist with the training of new or temporary employees
- Other tasks as assigned by the Printing Manager or Lead Hand
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Able to communicate verbally in English and read at a grade 8 level
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, safety labels and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure,
- Good eye & hand coordination and ability to react quickly
- Ability to perform some physical duties requiring average strength, including manual lifting and working in tight quarters for inspection and for searching for proper product; able to stand and walk for periods of 8 hours
- Ability to work rotating days/evenings, 8-hour shifts
- Experience with offset printing
