Delivery Lead
Permanent
Farringdon, London - Hybrid
Purpose of the Role
The Delivery Lead owns TCEU’s agile operating standard, line manages all Scrum Masters, and is accountable for delivery quality across every team. At 50% billability, this role holds one Product Delivery team directly while spending the remaining time on community leadership, standards, coaching and release coordination.
Key Responsibilities
1. Agile Practice & Delivery Standards
• Define and embed a consistent TCEU agile delivery standard across all teams — covering sprint ceremonies, estimation, Jira usage, team reporting and retrospective practice.
• Drive delivery health reviews and continuous improvement across the agile community.
• Ensure teams can interoperate — consistent working patterns that allow movement between teams without breaking rhythm.
• Coordinate release activity across teams, ensuring delivery is smooth, consistent and continuous.
2. Scrum Master Line Management
• Line manage all Scrum Masters across TCEU.
• Run regular 1:1s, performance reviews and development conversations.
• Identify capability gaps across the Scrum Master community and develop plans to close them.
• Cover sickness and holiday for Scrum Masters as required.
• Coach and develop Scrum Masters to operate with increasing autonomy and delivery impact.
3. Cross-functional Delivery Co-ordination
• Partner with the Senior Product Manager to align delivery capacity with roadmap commitments.
• Partner with the Programme Lead to ensure sprint execution and programme governance stay in sync.
• Ensure burndown visibility, demand vs. capacity alignment and blocker escalation are consistent across all teams.
• Provide proactive early warning of delivery risk to the Head of Product & Delivery.
4. Escalation & Accountability
• Own delivery-level escalation — team blockers that cannot be resolved at Scrum Master level escalate to the Delivery Lead.
• Technical issues escalate to the relevant Lead Engineer; product issues escalate to the Senior Product Manager.
• Ensure escalation paths from all teams are clear, consistent and fast.
• Accountable for delivery quality, agile standards and Scrum Master community performance across TCEU.

Communication & Collaboration
Engages a wide stakeholder set, including Senior functional leaders, to build alignment on direction and trade-offs. Facilitates cross-team sessions to resolve conflicts, align roadmaps and define shared outcomes. Tells a compelling story backed by data and customer insight. Represents the domain in internal forums and contributes to external conversations where appropriate.
