Brand Protection Analyst / Cyber-investigator

(1-year FTC, part-time or full-time)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Brand Protection Analyst / Cyber‑Investigator to join our Brand Protection team in either our London or Nottingham office. This is a 1‑year fixed‑term contract initially, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

In this dynamic role, you will support the Head of Brand Intelligence in delivering brand protection services to a diverse portfolio of clients. The role combines web monitoring and enforcement with intelligence gathering and cyber‑investigations, requiring both technical proficiency and critical judgement. You will work with a range of in‑house, licensed and open‑source tools, applying your technical expertise and strategic thinking to identify and address instances of IP infringement that impact brand revenue, reputation, and consumer safety – always with our clients’ best interests at heart.

Day‑to‑day duties include:

• Monitoring and analysing content across a broad range of online platforms, e.g. marketplaces, social media, websites, app stores, search engines.

• Identifying and reporting instances of infringement (counterfeits, trademark abuse, copyright infringement, impersonation, phishing) to platforms, intermediaries, and relevant third parties, prioritising action in line with client commercial priorities, reputational risk, and consumer safety.

• Monitoring the resolution of reported cases and escalating matters where required.

• Maintaining accurate records of enforcement actions, including submissions, pushbacks, escalations, and outcomes.

• Producing Data & Insights reports that detail enforcement activity, ROI, and next steps.

• Gathering intelligence on the nature and scale of infringement to inform strategic decision‑making.

• Handling client enquiries professionally and attentively, using each interaction as an opportunity to improve processes and deliver additional value.

• Keeping up to date with industry developments, particularly advancements in AI and emerging technologies.

• Contributing to process improvements, automation initiatives, and the development of investigative tooling.

• Excellent technical and analytical skills, with the ability to confidently navigate the web, investigate targets at varying levels of depth, gather and process large volumes of data accurately and efficiently.

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage clearly, effectively, and empathetically with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.

• Confident Word and PowerPoint user, able to produce clear, professional‑looking reports and presentations.

• Advanced Excel skills, including data cleaning, manipulation, and analysis to extract meaningful insights.

• Working knowledge of Python for basic web scraping and automation tasks.

• Familiarity with OSINT tools and techniques.

Desirable Requirements:

• Degree or current studies in an analytical or technical discipline, or relevant work experience.

• Experience or exposure to working across international languages and non‑Latin scripts.

• Understanding of VMs and VPNs for secure browsing and investigations.

• Familiarity with relational databases and SQL queries.

• Familiarity with trade mark, design, and copyright concepts.

• Genuine interest in working within the IP sector.
