The WASH Specialist (P3) reports to the Chief WASH (P5) for guidance and direction. This P3 WASH Specialist is positioned as the section’s lead specialist for planning, data for decision making, climate resilient WASH, and donor engagement, directly translating national evidence into prioritized, fundable and deliverable WASH proposals and actions. The incumbent will (i) oversee the Section’s fun ofd raising and donor engagement and reporting; (ii) lead national data and evidence generation partnerships to keep Bangladesh’s baseline current and credible; (iii) drive climate resilient WASH thinking and pipeline proposals; and (iv) oversee innovations and a scale up of the pilots, with a particular focus on water, groundwater governance, medical waste management, and urban wastewater treatment.
Also, the Specialist supports the Sections Chief in managing the WASH section and oversees the development, preparation, management, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the WASH programme within the country programme. The Specialist provides technical guidance and management support throughout the programming processes to ensure the achievement of the WASH-related output results in the country programme. The Specialist provides authoritative advisory services to government and sector support agencies and interacts, in collaboration with the Section Chief, with government at senior levels and with staff of Donor Organizations and International Development Banks.
