How You’ll Make an Impact:
The CNC Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing CNC machinery while executing preventative maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and uptime. This role supports production by maintaining electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems, minimizing downtime, and driving continuous improvement across CNC equipment and shop operations.
What you’ll be doing as a CNC Service Technician:
- Working a full-time, onsite position at our Simi Valley, CA location.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair CNC machine issues including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control-related problems
- Maintain and repair CNC machines including mills and lathes, with familiarity in Matsuura, Mori Seiki, Haas and Fanuc-controlled equipment
- Serve as the primary point of contact for machine malfunctions, following issues through to full resolution
- Coordinate with OEMs, machine tool builders, and third-party service providers when advanced support is required
- Perform electrical troubleshooting on CNC systems, including controls, wiring, sensors, and drives
- Inspect, diagnose, and replace faulty components such as motors, switches, relays, and circuit boards
- Replace and repair hydraulic components, including identifying leaks and changing out hydraulic hoses as needed
- Perform ball screw replacements and alignments, including handling larger assemblies (60”+)
- Develop, implement, and maintain preventative maintenance schedules within a tracking system
- Ensure all scheduled maintenance tasks are completed on time and properly documented
- Change out and monitor oils, coolants, and other machine fluids to ensure proper operation and longevity
- Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities for process improvement and increased reliability
- Ensure chip bins are emptied as required and chip areas are maintained
- Ensure maintenance of all machine coolant and fluid levels daily
- Maintain and repair facility and custodial equipment as needed
- Oversee general facility maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, filling dispensers, and supporting facility setup needs
- Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiencies and reduce machine downtime
- Adhere to all workplace safety guidelines, policies, and applicable regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications (Education, skills and experience):
- Minimum 3 years of CNC machine maintenance experience (mills and lathes) in a manufacturing or similar environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
- Experience working with CNC controls, particularly Fanuc systems
Preferred Qualifications (Education, skills and experience):
- Experience servicing Matsuura, Mori Seiki, Haas and Fanuc-controlled equipment
- Electrical background with the ability to read schematics and diagnose control issues
- Proven ability to work independently and manage maintenance priorities
- Motivated, dependable individual with a strong work ethic and punctuality
- Good verbal communication skills and ability to coordinate with internal teams and external vendors
- Mechanically inclined with strong manual dexterity
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating workloads and deadlines
- Team player with a proactive, problem-solving mindset

The CNC Service Technician Compensation range for onsite California applicants is $35-$50 per hour commensurate with experience. Some shifts may include shift differential pay rates. Other site ranges may differ.
