Job Summary:The AS9100 Supplier Auditor is responsible for evaluating and auditing supplier quality management systems to ensure compliance with AS9100 standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations. This role focuses on supplier performance, process effectiveness, and risk mitigation within the aerospace supply chain.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site and remote audits of suppliers to verify compliance with AS9100 requirements.
- Evaluate supplier quality systems, manufacturing processes, and inspection methods.
- Assess compliance with customer-specific requirements (e.g., flow-down requirements).
- Identify non-conformances, risks, and gaps; document findings and issue audit reports.
- Lead or support corrective action requests (CARs) and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Perform supplier qualification, surveillance, and re-evaluation audits.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics (quality, delivery, and responsiveness).
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards (FAA, NADCAP where applicable).
- Collaborate with internal quality, engineering, and procurement teams.
- Support supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field preferred.
- 3–5+ years of experience in aerospace quality, supplier quality, or auditing.
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and quality management systems.
- Experience conducting supplier audits and managing corrective actions.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, GD&T, and inspection processes.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and special processes.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Lead Auditor certification (e.g., AS9100 Lead Auditor or ASQ Certified Quality Auditor).
- Familiarity with NADCAP requirements and audits.
- Experience with PPAP, SPC, and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
- Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and supplier portals.
- Experience with risk-based auditing and process-based auditing techniques.
