Sr Operational Procurement Engineer
Leads Advanced and New Product Development sourcing by industrializing the supplier base, developing product cost roadmaps, driving BoM RFP engagement, executing Design for Excellence and early supplier innovation activities, and partnering with Innovation and Engineering teams to deliver optimal cost, quality, risk, and value under limited supervision.
Your role:
- Drive supplier engagement on Bill of Materials (BoM) RFPs to ensure full participation, technical and quality suitability, and competitive pricing for new product initiatives.
- Execute Design for Excellence (DfX) activities under limited supervision to improve product cost, quality, performance, and risk, influencing design specifications and supplier/part capability.
- Lead early supplier innovation events and partner with Innovation and Engineering teams to incorporate supplier-driven solutions that optimize product value for Philips and its customers.
- Develop and implement cost reduction, quality improvement, and risk mitigation initiatives, including component simplification, standardization, and platforming across the product portfolio.
- Ensure supplier readiness for New Product Introductions (NPI), support launch and ramp-up activities, and build product cost roadmaps to drive continuous lifecycle improvements while contributing to cost engineering strategies.
You're the right fit if:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Operations, Business, or equivalent, with 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, R&D, or Quality.
- Proven senior profile with demonstrated leadership of cost‑reduction initiatives delivering real, implemented savings; strong data analysis skills (costs, volumes, BoM, financial scenarios), high autonomy, ability to influence without authority, and advanced English.
- Background in Procurement or Operations/Supply Chain roles with strong exposure to cost management and cross‑functional, dotted‑line environments; project management experience is a plus.
- Strong expertise in Cost Engineering, DfX methodologies, SCM, Risk and Quality Management, Manufacturing and Lean methodologies, Supplier Evaluation and Relationship Management, and solid business acumen.

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
This role is an office role.
